Peggy was born on May 17, 1942 in Atkinson, NC. Peggy’s parents moved to Fortson, GA when she was a teenager. She graduated from Jordan High School in 1960. One of her fondest memories from high school was when she was voted ROTC Queen and was honored at their annual ball. She very often reminded us she was a “Queen” and would do her queen wave for us.
Peggy got her start in IT after graduating from Perry Business School. She worked at Royal Crown Cola where she met her lifelong friend Susan Vail Maloof. From RC she worked at First Federal S & L, Pratt Whitney and Meadvaco. After she retired, she enjoyed working in the gift shop at Cracker Barrel, she could sell anything.
In her free time, Peggy loved making seasonal wreaths, flower arrangements, painting pictures and painting decorative designs on furniture. She was very talented and excelled in whatever she chose to do. Peggy was loved by all that met her; she never met a stranger. She had a quick wit and was always making jokes. Peggy was a devoted mother to her son Ben and Grandmommy to Parker and Cody. She was always bragging about them and how handsome they are. She loved spending time with them, they were her heart.
Peggy was an animal lover, during her lifetime she had cats, dogs, cows, chickens, goats, pigs, and horses. She is survived by her sweet rescue cat, Miss Kitty, which she has had for several years. She loved her dearly and spoiled her. Peggy had a kind generous heart, who loved her family and friends and will be missed by everyone. She especially enjoyed family gatherings with everyone sharing stories and jokes, it was a fun time.
Peggy is survived by her son Benjamin “Ben” F. Robinson (Lori) and her grandsons, Parker and Cody; her sister Mary Lynn Webb (Keith); numerous nieces and nephews.
Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Fenner; mother, Sarah Ralph Croom; father, Hugh L. Croom; sisters, Elaine Grindle, Rebecca Ober; brothers, Hugh ”Butch” Croom Jr, Richard “Dick” Ralph Croom.
