Margaret Norman, a cherished wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in Columbus, Georgia, on June 3, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on January 23, 1945, Margaret lived a life filled with love, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community. A visitation to celebrate Margaret's life will be held on June 12, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory in Columbus, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Margaret will then be laid to rest during a burial service at Parkhill Cemetery following the service.
She was devoted to her husband, Olin C. Norman Jr., with whom she celebrated an incredible 64 years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love and joy, supported by their son, Olin Norman II. Margaret's family also included her beloved sisters, Barbara Tanner and Gwen Wade, both residing in Sylvester, GA, who shared many cherished memories with her. The joy that Margaret brought into the lives of those around her is immeasurable, extending to her extended family and friends, all of whom were touched by her warmth and generosity.
Margaret was a dedicated member of the Second Baptist Church in Columbus, where she found her calling in working and teaching at the nursery. Her nurturing spirit shaped the lives of countless children, providing them with love and learning in a safe environment. Her passion for teaching and her ability to connect with everyone she met made her a beloved figure in her community.
Known for her culinary talents, Margaret was the most amazing cook, and the aroma of her delicious meals brought people together. Friends and family would gather around her table, where laughter and stories were shared, and the love she infused into every dish fostered a sense of belonging for all. Her kind-hearted nature ensured that everyone felt welcomed and valued. Margaret's innate ability to create bonds and foster connections was evident to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Margaret now joins her loved ones who have passed before her, including her brother Jerry Headrick, sisters Evelyn King, Shelby Ferrell, and Helen Davis, and her parents, Ella Mae and Paul Headrick. While their physical presence is no longer with us, their memories will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
