Margie Kinchen Dishman, 72, passed peacefully on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Abbey Hospice, surrounded by love.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, August 23, 2025 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Margie was born in Columbus on November 19, 1952, to Frances and Newton Kinchen. She grew up with a lively spirit and a heart full of compassion, qualities that shaped the life she lived and the love she gave. After graduating from Hardaway High School, she pursued studies in business management, eventually owning Advantage Hearing Aids.

Her generosity extended far beyond her career. Margie had a special love for animals and spent many hours volunteering at Animal Ark, giving her time and heart to care for those who couldn’t speak for themselves. She also actively supported political causes close to her heart

Margie’s happiest moments were simple ones— spending time with family, days at the lake, reading or playing trivia with friends. But her greatest joy came from her role as “Emme.” Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and every moment with them was treasured beyond measure.

She leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory forward: her daughter Lauren Britt (Jeremy), her son Hal Littlejohn (Renee), her sister Debra Hartman (Art), her brother Jack Kinchen (Priscilla), brother-in-laws David Hart and Sammy Jones, and sister-in-laws Gayle Kinchen and Marty Kinchen. Her grandchildren: Justin Littlejohn, Tiffany Clevenger, Amelia Britt, and Elizabeth Britt. Her Great grandchildren: Austin and Kylie. She is also survived by “her guy,” Steve McCall, who was her steadfast partner and constant source of love and laughter. And numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances Adams Kinchen and Newton Kinchen, along with her sisters Shirley Kinchen, Sue Jones, and Donna Hart, and her brothers Ray Kinchen and Gene Kinchen, and step-son Scott Dishman. We take comfort knowing they have welcomed her home with open arms.

Margie’s spirit was one of warmth, laughter, and resilience. She gave freely of her heart, loved fiercely, and lived with joy. Her legacy is one of compassion and devotion, and her presence will be deeply missed but forever felt by all who knew her.
