Marie Higgins Croft, 88, of Columbus, GA formerly of Ft. Payne, AL died Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Gentiva Hospice.
A public visitation will be held Friday, June 2, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. The family will have a private funeral service at a later time.
Mrs. Croft was born October 13, 1928 in Jackson County, AL daughter of the late Pearl Higgins Womack and Raymond Higgins. She was a homemaker and loved to grow a vegetable garden, play bingo, put puzzles together, but most of all she loved her grandsons and great-grandchildren.
She was a Baptist by faith and was a member of the American Legion and the Frank Chester Senior Center.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thurston Croft and her siblings, Boyd Higgins, Raymond Higgins and Kenneth Higgins.
Survivors include her daughter, Martha Burgamy (Ronnie) of Cusseta, GA, grandchildren, David Burgamy (Lisa) and Danny Burgamy (Crystal), and great-grandchildren, Matthew Burgamy, Rebecca Burgamy, Sydney Burgamy and Leah Burgamy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Gentiva Hospice 100 Brookstone Centre Parkway Columbus, GA 31904.
