Born on August 18, 1934, to the late Clifford Turnquist and Phyllis Toensing, Marilyn grew up with a vibrant spirit and a deep love for the world around her. After graduating high school, she proudly served her country by joining the United States Women’s Army Corp. Marilyn was a woman of immense creativity and appreciation for beauty. She had a passion for Bowling, horses, painting, and taking in stunning landscape scenery. Some of her family's most cherished memories include driving along scenic roads, watching the leaves change colors in the fall, and singing along to one of her favorite songs, "Under the Boardwalk." She had a gentle soul that found joy in music, art, and the peaceful moments of nature.
In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Lewis, and her 3 siblings, Richard Turnquist, Arnold Turnquist and Pat Doyle.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Jim Lewis of Columbus, GA and Linda Heaton of Woodstock, GA; brothers, Dennis Turnquist of Colorado Springs, CO and Dean Turnquist of San Diego, CA; sisters, Sandra Samway of Enid, OK and Pamela Golden of Craig, CO; grandchildren, Amber Arnold of Marietta, GA, Nicholas Heaton of Smyrna, GA, and Marvin Lewis of Roy, WA; great grandchildren, Emilia Arnold, Camille Arnold, Kaiden Arnold, Everett Lewis, Harper Lewis, and multiple nieces and nephews.
