Marilyn J. Rivera, 65, of Ellerslie, GA died Monday, December 26, 2016 at Midtown Medical Center.
A Mass will be held 10:00 AM Friday, December 30, 2016 at St. Anne Catholic Church 2000 Kay Circle Columbus, GA 31907 with Father Jeremiah McCarthy officiating according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Rivera was born February 26, 1951 in Silver Creek, NY daughter of Rachel Zappie Bomasuto of Syracuse, NY and the late Michael Bomasuto. She worked as the Hospitality Specialist for the Columbus Convention and Trade Center. Mrs. Rivera was a member of St. Anne where she served as the Communion Minister. She was also the Activity Leader with the Muscogee County School District after school program.
Survivors other than her mother include her husband, Julio Rivera of Ellerslie, GA, son, Justin Kane Rivera (Paige) of Smiths, AL, brother, Michael Bomasuto (Kathleen) of Syracuse, NY, grandchildren, Lily, Jaxson and Ashlyn, and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society 233 12th St. #710 Columbus, GA 31901 or to St. Jude Children's Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Pl Memphis, TN 38105.
