Mark Kenna Brewer, a beloved family man known for his loving heart and generous spirit, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024, in Columbus, Georgia. Born on March 17, 1957, in Beckley, West Virginia, to Cleve and Betty Brewer, Mark's journey through life was marked by his friendly demeanor and the joy he found in simple pleasures.
Mark was the cherished husband of 42 years of Lisa Brewer, with whom he shared a life full of laughter and love. Together, they raised two wonderful children, their son Aaron Brewer (Lauren) and daughter Lindsey Brooks (Jared). Mark's legacy continues through his adored grandchildren: Wyatt, Reese, Emily, Makenna, and Amelia, who will forever remember their Poppy's playful nature and the warmth of his embrace.
Preceded in death by his parents and his brother Cleve "Buddy" Brewer, Mark leaves behind a close-knit family including his siblings Laura Lego, Rebecca "Becky" Kirchner, John Brewer, Carolyn Dunn, and Susan "Susie" Hughes. His many nieces and nephews will fondly recall his stories and the kind wisdom he imparted.
Mark's work ethic was evident early on. His career as a service technician at AT&T spanned many years, during which he not only dedicated himself to his job but also formed lasting friendships and connections through his involvement with various associations.
Mark's interests were as rich and varied as the life he led. His hands, often soiled from the earth of his garden or stained with grease from tinkering with old cars, were a testament to his love for working with his hands. Yet, it was his time spent with children and grandchildren that truly brought him the most joy. Whether he was teaching them how to plant a seedling or telling tales of his youth, Mark's presence was a source of comfort and joy.
Described by those who knew him as loving, generous, and friendly, Mark's impact on the world was as profound as it was gentle. He approached life with a smile that could light up a room and a kindness that knew no bounds. His ability to find the good in people and situations was a gift that he freely shared, making every encounter with him a pleasant memory to cherish.
Mark's life was a tapestry woven with the threads of love, hard work, and dedication to those he held dear. He leaves behind a legacy of love—a blueprint for how to live a life that is full and meaningful. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
