Mark Fredrick Bruer passed away unexpectedly at his home in Columbus, Georgia on July 21, 2021, but he was never big on making plans anyways.
Mark was born August 5, 1958 in Mobile, Alabama to loving parents Beverly and Frank Bruer and will be remembered as he lived — full of life, love, and optimism.
Whoever encountered Mark, whether family, friends, or strangers, were always met with a wide-eyed smile and treated to an entertaining story that may or may not have contained numerous exaggerations.
His love of cars and music shaped his world, instilling in those around him a deep appreciation for a drive with no destination, preferably in a convertible, while blasting the soundtrack to his life, Rock 103.
To those lucky enough to call him dad, husband, brother, son, or uncle, he will most fondly be remembered while manning a hot grill overflowing with burgers or whipping up a bowl of his “famous Dad’s dip.”
He is survived by his wife, Mollie Woodall Bruer, his two sons, Warren Bruer and Wesley Bruer (Lindsay), step-sons Ed Norris (Mary Margaret), Andy Norris (Adelyn), and Hugh Norris, siblings Eric Bruer, Littlejohn Bruer, Cissie Clement, his loyal sidekick Finn, as well as anyone who ever had the pleasure of sharing a beer with him.
