Marti Mote Larkin, 81, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away at her residence on Friday, June 12, 2026.

Born on September 2, 1944, in Columbus, Georgia, Marti was the daughter of the late Albert Aquila Mote and Merrill Roberts Mote.

As a teenager, Marti worked as a lifeguard and developed a lifelong love of swimming, water skiing, and music. She later became a trained Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and ambulance attendant and dedicated many years of service as a Civil Service employee at Fort Benning, Georgia.

Throughout her life, Marti lived in Louisiana and Texas before making Jacksonville, Florida, her home. An entrepreneurial spirit, she owned and operated both an antique business and a dog grooming and boarding business, combining her appreciation for history with her deep love for animals.

Marti enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening, playing cards, cooking, and spending time with her beloved dogs. She treasured meaningful conversations and never met a stranger. Her warm personality, generous heart, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.

Marti is survived by several loving extended family members and many dear friends who will cherish her memory.
