Marvin Lawrence Moore, 65, of Mauk, GA, passed away Friday, September 18, 2026, at his residence. A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory.

Larry was born June 22, 1961, in Richland, GA, son of the late Douglas E. Moore, Sr. and Betty Barker Morris.

Larry was best known by many for his grumpy personality, but to his grandchildren and nephew, he was simply “Grumpy,” a title he proudly carried. He could be found many weekends on the sidelines watching his granddaughters play soccer or cheering on his nephew as he played basketball and football. His greatest joy was spending time with the kids and being a part of their lives.

Larry loved working, whether it was taking care of things around the house or spending time in the yard. He especially loved woodworking and had a natural talent for it, taking great pride in the things he created with his own hands. He enjoyed yard work and golf, and he could almost always count on his faithful companion, Remi, to be right beside him as he worked in the yard.

Larry also loved to travel and enjoyed road trips and day trips with his wife, Alyssa. More than the destination, he cherished simply spending time together and sharing everyday life. One of their most recent road trips took them to Michigan to visit special friends, and they are incredibly grateful they were able to share that time together and make one more special memory.

Larry and Alyssa shared a love of a lifetime. He devoted himself to caring for her and making sure she was taken care of, always putting her needs and well-being close to his heart. Their life together was built on love, companionship, and the simple moments they shared, from traveling together to enjoying the everyday routines of life. He was a devoted husband who loved his wife deeply, and their bond was one of the greatest parts of his life.

Larry shared a special bond with his older brother, Doug. As the only two siblings growing up, they remained close throughout their lives and looked forward to the time they spent catching up and sharing stories together. Their lifelong connection was an important part of Larry’s life.

Other than his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his stepfather, Marshall Morris.

Survivors include his wife, Alyssa Moore of Mauk, GA; brother, Doug Moore of Columbus, GA; stepsister, Barbara Sieving (Danny) of Colorado Springs, CO; nephew, Daniel Tong of Colorado Springs, CO; child, Jennifer Rose (Kevin) of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Matthew Rose (Hope) of Columbus, GA, Tanner Rose of Columbus, GA, Jordan Rose of Columbus, GA; great-grandchild, Charleigh Rose of Columbus, GA, McKenzie Rose of Columbus, GA; sister-in-law, DeAnna McEwen (Brad) of Smith Station, AL; nephew, Cooper McEwen of Smith Station, AL; father and mother-in-law, Larry and Beth Leverett of Phenix City, AL; and numerous beloved cousins, friends, former coworkers, golf friends, and others who were fortunate to know Larry and became like family along the way.
