Mary Joyce Hanson Pratt, 89, of Columbus, GA died Saturday, June 2, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Andy Rutherford and Rev. Gary Tankersley officiating. Interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Pratt was born July 4, 1928 in Thomaston, GA, daughter of the late Wallace Asbury Hanson and Ruby Ruth Hanson. She retired as a Kindergarten and Reading Teacher from Calvary Christian School and ministered with her husband, pastor in the Church of the Nazarene, for over 45 years. Their pastorates included churches in Kansas, Missouri, Florida, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Georgia. She was a member of Landmark Church of the Nazarene.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Carl C. Pratt, Sr. and four brothers, Paul Hanson, Robert Hanson, Wallace Hanson, and David Hanson.
Survivors include her son, Carl C. Pratt, Jr. (Claudia) of Cataula, GA and daughter, Linda Joyce (Joy) Wells (Marvin) of Franklin, TN; 5 grandchildren, Daniel Pratt, Lindi Wells Martsolf, Carolyn Pratt Williams, Daren Pratt and Will Pratt and 9 great-grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to Landmark Church of the Nazarene, 270 Lee Road 456, Phenix City, AL, 36867.
