Maxine Bailey

Maxine Thorne Bailey, 84, of Columbus, GA passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at River Towne Center. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Maxine was born November 05, 1940 in Columbia, AL daughter of the late Max and Gladys Milner Thorne.

Other than her parents, Maxine is preceded in death by her siblings, Christine Norton, George Thorne; grandchildren, Brice Pritchett, and Gwen Thornburg. Maxine was happiest when in the presence of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Making them happy was her greatest joy.

Survivors include her children, Terry Pritchett (David) of Hamilton, GA, Gary Hicks (Karen Vance) of Woodstock, GA, Christie Welch (Steve) of Columbus, Ga, David Hicks (Kris) of Winchester, VA; grandchildren, Nicole Howard (Adam) of Columbus, GA, Blaine Pritchett of Hamilton, GA, Shanda Sams of Kennesaw, GA, Jake Hicks (Zoey) of Woodstock, GA, Sam Hicks (Alex Perrone) of New York, NY, Noel Hernandez (Kevin) of Las Vegas, NV, Cheyenne Hicks (Zachary Thornburg) of Rivesville, WV; great grandchildren, Brody, Preston, Joseph, Hugh, Sutton, Ace, Haven; siblings, Bobbie Fort (Tom) of Wilmington, DE, Linda Bass of Columbus, GA, Terry French of Columbus, GA; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.
