Mildred George Newsome, 63, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Midtown Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Reverend Terry Robbins officiating. A private interment will be held at Riverdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
Ms. Newsome was born February 5, 1953 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Byrd Reeves George and Willie Mae Greenhaw George. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her sons, Tony M. Newsome (fiancé, Robin Walton) and David Newsome (Breana Murray) all of Columbus, GA, sisters, Bertie M. Young, Pauline Barrett (Robert) all of Deltona, FL and Sadie George Sandlin (Green) of Columbus, GA, brothers, Donald George (Tricia) and Herman George all of El Paso, TX, and grandsons, Collen Newsome, and Carson Carswell.
