Millie Joyce Joseph

Millie J. Joseph, 91, passed away at her home in Ellerslie, Georgia, on August 6, 2026. Millie was born in Eldorado, Arkansas, to Hollis Clifford and Mamie Idella Best. Millie was the fifth child in a family of ten children.

Other than her parents, Millie is preceded in death by her son, Timothy Joseph, granddaughter, Clarissa Walden, and grandson, Jacob Brooks. She is survived by her children, Rhonda Mobley, Tammy Rhenea Defee, and Russell Joseph. Millie had 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother.

Millie worked for the Conecuh County Board of Education for over 30 years. In her later years she shared her time in both Ellerslie, Georgia, and Evergreen, Alabama. She attended Bowles Assembly of God Church, Range Freewill Baptist Church, and Schomburg Road Baptist Church.

She loved fishing, puzzles, reading, playing games, and gardening.  Millie will be most remembered for her Christlike disposition, quiet demeanor, and beautiful smile.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Range Freewill Baptist, with Reverand Buddy Williams officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to one of the following churches Bowles Assembly of God Church, Range Freewill Baptist Church, or Schomburg Road Baptist Church.
