MSG (Ret.) William G. DeLima, 70, of Columbus, GA died Friday, December 30, 2016 at his home.
A Funeral Mass with military honors will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, January 5, 2017 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Father Jeremiah McCarthy officiating. Interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
MSG (Ret.) DeLima was born June 10, 1946 in Haina, Hawaii son of the late John DeLima, Jr. and Alexandrina DeMattos DeLima. He retired from the U. S. Airforce as a Master Sergeant after 27 years of faithful service. Mr. DeLima enjoyed flying radio controlled air planes, repairing antique radios and being with family and friends. He will be remembered as having a warm and kind heart, full of spirit and welcoming to everyone. Mr. DeLima was a wonderful son, brother, and uncle.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Donna Behnke Redding.
Survivors include his three siblings, Lucille Mae Behnke, Columbus, GA, Joan Guillot (Roy), LA and John DeLima, Hawaii; nephew, Gordon Behnke, Columbus, GA; great-nephew, Danny Redding, Columbus, GA; numerous other nieces and nephews also survive.
