While living in New York, she spent years looking out for and caring for those who could not take care of themselves and being supportive to their families. She also worked in retail and as a cook. She was known for several of her traditional West Indian dishes which her children and grandchildren still remember and enjoyed for many years.

In 1978, she relocated with her husband and three children from St. Thomas to New York. In 2003, she retired to Georgia to be close to family.

Brown skin girl, stay home and mind baby

Stay home and mind baby”

Psalm 31: 9 – 10

9Have mercy upon me, O Lord, for I am in trouble; mine eye is consumed from grief, yea; my soul and my belly.

10For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing; my strength faileth me because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.

Psalm 34:18 - The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be or a contrite spirit.

Have comfort in Psalm 30:5 – “… weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”

Psalm 23

1 The Lord is My Shepherd; I shall not want

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of shadow death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
