Murlene Williams Franklin, 75, of Phenix City, AL died Sunday, February 14, 2016 at her home.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Glenn Nixon officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Franklin was born July 6, 1940 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Ivers and Lennie Curry Williams. She was a Jordan High School graduate and retired as a 911 Dispatcher from Russell County. Mrs. Franklin was also assembly of God by faith. She was loved by her many special friends and will be greatly missed.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Franklin.
Survivors include her special nephews, Glenn, Gary, Gregg and Jeff Nixon, many cousins and family members and her extended family with the Russell County Sheriff's Office.
