Myra J. Wood, 58, of Buena Vista, Ga passed away November 23, 2016 at Columbus Hospice House.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Ga 31097. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Ms. Wood was born July 7, 1958 in Enterprise, Ala to Leon Barnes and the late Sarah Barnes.
Ms. Wood was employed with Blue Cross and Blue Shield as a refund recovery analyst. She had also been involved with the Boy Scouts of America for a number of years. The last few years she had been involved with Prodigy Dance Centre in Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Barnes and a granddaughter, Savannah Wood.
Survivors include her father, Leon Barnes of Buena Vista, GA; her daughter Christine Teate (Sam) of Mauk, GA; son Matthew (Matt) Wood (Jamie) of Seale, AL; brothers, Timmie Barnes (Cindy), and Jeff Barnes (Patty). She also has five grandchildren, Ashley Ginn, Amberlynn Hernandez both of Mauk, GA, Noah Wood, Jasper Wood and Peyton Wood all of Seale, AL.
