Norman Glenn Parkerson, Sr. 68, of Columbus, GA died Monday, February 22, 2016 at Gentiva Hospice.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Parkhill Cemetery 4161 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA 31907 according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Parkerson was born December 2, 1947 in Columbus, GA son of the late Joseph Lester Parkerson and Ethel Goins Parkerson. He held many occupations throughout his life. He worked for the Columbus Papermill, worked as a security guard at the prison and worked as a title clerk for Muscogee County. He loved sports and was an avid Tennessee Volunteers fan.
Survivors include his daughter, Samantha Knipe (Jeremy) of Phenix City, AL, sons, Norman Parkerson, Jr. (Rose) of Montgomery Co., TN and Lester Parkerson (fiancé, Brittany) of Columbus, GA, and 7 grandchildren, Bryce, Tyler, Madison, Rachel and Riley Knipe, Eloise Fentress and Ethan Chase Parkerson.
