Pamela Watkins Coffield

Pamela Watkins Coffield, 78, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away at her residence on September 1, 2026.

Born in Columbus on September 18, 1947, Pamela was the daughter of the late Calvin George Watkins and Leona Ruth Studdard Watkins. She was preceded in death by her siblings, William James Watkins and Betty Ann Forrest.

Pamela lived a rich, meaningful life defined by faith, intellect, heart, and profound generosity. She was absolutely a Christian woman who loved Jesus and loved to share her faith! She earned degrees from the University of Georgia and Auburn University, distinguishing herself through her membership in Mensa, Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, Kappa Delta Pi, and Pi Mu Epsilon.

A dedicated educator, Pamela spent her career shaping minds as a brilliant mathematics teacher at Brookstone School and Muscogee County School District (Jordan High School and Spencer High School). Her passion for teaching earned her numerous accolades, including the prestigious Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching for the State of Georgia. Her contributions extended far beyond her own classrooms, ²²Authoring and contributing to multiple scholastic mathematical textbooks.

Those who knew Pamela best will remember her warmth, generosity, unwavering loyalty, and quick spirit. She was a remarkably generous soul who frequently helped those in need, always choosing to do so anonymously without ever seeking recognition. She absolutely loved everything and anything SNOOPY.

Pamela’s sharp mind and devotion to helping others touched countless lives and left a lasting mark on her community. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. We LOVE You Pam! Until we MEET AGAIN!!
