Pamela Greer Patterson, 66, died peacefully at home on March 20th in Renfroe, Georgia. Pam was born on January 11, 1952 to Mary Anne Greer and Ray Greer, Sr. of Columbus, Georgia. Pam was known for her near-constant smile, unwavering positive outlook on life, and devotion to her family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Living Grace United Methodist Church, 3969 Edgewood Circle, Columbus, Georgia, with Rev. Roy White officiating. Interment will be held at Harmony Cemetery, Richland, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Pam and her late husband, John Stonie Patterson, Sr., had a magical 42-year love story. They married in 1976 and made a home together where the Army needed them, including assignments in Ft Rucker, Alabama; Ft Benning, Georgia; Ft Levenworth, Kansas; and Germany. Her granddaughters, Annsley and Adley, fueled her spirit, her children filled her with pride, and the marriage she made with Stonie defined her life as it defined his.
Pam graduated from Columbus College with a degree in Paralegal Studies. Using her talents and education, she served as a civilian in the US Army. After retirement, Pam was awarded with the U.S. Army Claims Service Career award, an accolade for her years of service, a recognition of her significant and lasting contribution, and an acknowledgement that her legacy will continue to shape the future of Army Claims.
Pam was pre-deceased by her husband, John Stonie Patterson, Sr., Lieutenant Colonel, US Army, Retired, and her mother, Mary Anne Greer. Pam is survived by her son, John Stonie Patterson, Jr. and his wife Kristie of Smiths Station, Alabama; her daughter, Vonda Patterson of Huntsville, Alabama; and her two granddaughters, Annsley and Adley Patterson of Smiths Station, Alabama. She is also survived by her father, Ray Greer, Sr., sisters, Cindy, Sandra, Kathy, and Kathy's husband Bob, and her brother Ray Greer, Jr. Pam was very close with her extended Greer and Patterson families.
She attended Living Grace United Methodist Church in Columbus, Georgia.
Flowers will be accepted.
