Raymond Jeffrey Davenport

Raymond Jeffrey "Jeff" Davenport, 56, of Fortson, GA passed away Monday, January 29, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Pastor Mark Brown officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Davenport was born June 9, 1961 in Columbus, GA son of Raymond Davenport of Luthersville, GA and Barbara Burkes Calhoun of West Point, GA. He worked as the Project Manager for Rodgers Metal Craft and was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church and the 6-foot quartet. He was an avid UGA and Falcons fan. Mr. Davenport was an amazing father, karate instructor at Won's Martial Arts, football coach and singer. He was loved by his church family and will be missed by many.
Other than his parents, he is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Suzanne Raybon Davenport of Fortson, GA, children, Matthew Davenport (Lauren) of Columbus, GA, Kristin Caroline Davenport of Columbus, GA and Adam "Red" Davenport of Fortson, GA, and siblings, Deidre Rodgers (Greg) of Pine Mountain, GA, Joe Akin (Rhonda) of Box Springs, GA and John Akin of Box Springs, GA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Maranatha Baptist Church 303 Double Churches Rd. Columbus, GA 31904.
