Raymond Jerry Johnson, 59, of Columbus, GA passed away Sunday November 16, 2025, at his residence. Graveside Services with Full Military Honors, will be held Friday at 12:30est, November 21, 2025 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 Highway 165, Ft, Mitchell, AL 36856 according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Raymond was born August 10, 1966 in Madison, FL to the late Charles Leroy Johnson and Yvonne Stewart Johnson. Raymond was educated in the Lake City, FL school system. After which he successfully completed Earl C. Clemens Job Corps as a welder. He retired from the U.S. Army after twenty years and twenty-eight days of honorable service. Mr. Johnson is a decorated veteran. Receiving Purple Heart , two Meritorious Service Medals, four Army Commendation Medals, six Good Conduct Medals, two National Defense Service Medals, a Korea Defense Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal with Arrow Head Device, three Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbons, Overseas Service Badge, Combat Infantry Badge, Parachutist Badge, and Air Assault Badge.
Mr. Johnson loved preaching, fishing, road trips, cooking Sunday dinners, Whitney Houston, Michael Bolton and those DALLAS COWBOYS. Most of all, he loved the Lord.
Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years Martel Johnson of Columbus, GA. Daughters: Daniella Stewart of Lake City, FL , Delbra Johnson of Columbus, GA and Carolyn Johnson of Ft. Valley, GA, sons: Raymond Hill of Birmingham, AL, and Raymond Johnson, Jr. of Columbus, GA and faithful canine companion, Sam.
