Funeral services will be held 2:00PM, Friday, November 22, 2024 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00PM Thursday, November 21, 2024 at the funeral home; 3874 Gentian Blvd, GA 31907
Rene was born on November 26, 1946, in Danville, Illinois, Rene grew up in a world vastly different from today, yet he embraced the changing times with grace and kindness. He attended Baker High School in Columbus, Georgia, where he left a lasting impression on his classmates and teachers with his gentle demeanor and kind heart. After graduation, he delved into the workforce with vigor and dedication. His career began shortly after high school when he started working at Tom's Foods, which would later become known as Lance Inc . Over 53 years later, Rene retired from the company, leaving behind a legacy of loyalty and hard work that inspired all who had the pleasure of working alongside him.
Throughout his life, Rene's passions were as clear as they were simple and heartfelt. He found great joy in the outdoors, often taking his family on camping trips that would become treasured memories. Fishing was not just a hobby for Rene; it was a way to connect with nature and enjoy the tranquility of the water. His love for Georgia football was infectious, and many knew not to disturb him during a game, as he would be thoroughly engrossed in the action on the screen.
No game show could capture Rene's attention quite like 'The Price is Right.' He would often remark on the contestants' strategies and celebrated their victories as if they were his own. Bowling was another of Rene's favorite pastimes. Not only did he enjoy the sport himself, but he also took immense pride in attending his son Kevin's bowling tournaments, cheering him on with every strike and spare.
Rene's loving nature extended beyond his hobbies and into every aspect of his life. His marriage of over 50 years to his beloved wife, Patsy, was a testament to his unwavering commitment and affection. Their partnership was a beacon of love and mutual respect, admired by all who knew them.
Rene is preceded in death by his parents Catherine and Rene Chevalier Sr.; mother and father in law, Myrtle and Glen Roslin; sister, Jeanette Jenkins; brother-in-law, Wayne Rolison; sister-in-law, Jackie Rolison, Tinkle Rolison, and Gloria Rolison.
He is survived by His wife, Patsy Chevalier; son, Kevin Scott; sister-in-law, Silvia Rolison, Nancy Rolison; brother in law, Jimmy Rolison (Cathy), many nieces and nephews.
