Richard Berryman “Barry” Mobley Sr., 78 of (Lake Harding) Hamilton, GA passed away on January 29, 2026, at his residence with his loving wife by his side. The family will have a Celebration of Life later to be announced by McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Barry “as he was lovingly known by his friends and family” was born November 22, 1947, in Macon, GA to the late William Thomas Mobley and Ann Bloodworth Mobley. During his lifetime career as a General Contractor, he made many lifelong friends from clients, other General Contractors, and sub-contractors due to his wonderful personality and always being honest and completing an assignment with the total satisfaction of those he was representing. Barry attending local Muscogee County Schools and was an outstanding athlete during his tenure at Columbus High School, Class of 1966. His fun-loving personality, always smiling, laughing and mischievous personality drew multiple people that wanted to be friends within his circle.
Barry is survived by his loving wife, Karen K. Mobley of Lake Harding, Hamilton, GA. son: Richard Mobley (Amy) of Columbus, GA, sister” Martha Ann Mobley of Atlanta, GA, brothers: William Thomas Mobley, Jr. (Flossie) of Atlanta, GA and John Bloodworth Mobley, Sr. five grandchildren: Caroline Holloway (Drake), William Mobley, Walker Mobley, Gardner Mobley, Richard B. Mobley, 111 and Geiger Sturkie. Multiple nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Wade Mobley and sister-in-law, Mary Illges Moley.
