SFC (Ret.) Richard D. Rebidue, 84, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, March 30, 2017 at his home.
A memorial Mass will be held 11:00 AM Monday, April 3, 2017 at Christ the King Catholic Church 6700 GA-354 Pine Mountain, GA 31822 with Father Madden officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. A rosary will be said Sunday evening at 5:00 PM with visitation to follow until 7:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
SFC (Ret.) Rebidue was born February 15, 1933 in Worchester, MA son of the late Cyril A. Rebidue and Laura Berthiaume Rebidue. He retired from the U.S. Army having served in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. During the military, he was a multiple Bronze Star recipient and was a member of the Marksmanship Training Unit. He later worked and retired from Muscogee County School District after 20 years teaching drafting at Carver High School. SFC (Ret.) Rebidue also volunteered at several of the Muscogee County Polling Precincts for many years and was an active member at Christ the King Church.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Rebidue.
Survivors include his children, Kathleen Stewart (Michael) of Pine Mountain Valley, GA, Chris Rebidue (Janet) of Phenix City, AL, Mathieu Rebidue (Melanie) of Columbus, GA and Kimberly Rebidue of Pine Mountain Valley, GA, grandchildren, Traci Moldin (Eric) of Canton, OH, April Bryant (Kenneth), Kristi Marvets (David) all of Columbus, GA, Lindsey Hammer of VA and Peyton Rebidue of Columbus, GA, siblings, James Rebidue (Nancy) of Brookfield, MA and Carol Hoyle (Ronald) of Little Suamico, WI, and 9 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church, 6700 GA-354 Pine Mountain, GA 31822.
