Robert F. Carswell, 63, of Columbus, GA died Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend James Cornett officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 23, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 P. M. at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Mr. Carswell was born September 27, 1949 in Orlando, FL son of the late Henry L. Carswell, Sr. and Lorene Wylie Carswell. He retired from the Columbus Consolidated Government in the Maintenance Department. He was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. Other then his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Giffis.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Carswell of Columbus, GA; daughter, Janie Mooney (Vince) of Americus, GA; son, Robert F. Carswell, Jr. (Susan) of Slidell, LA; stepson, Brady Cotton (Jessica) of Columbus, GA; brothers, Henry L. Carswell, Jr. and Curtis Carswell (Elizabeth) all of Columbus, GA; sister, Jessie Cannon (Jimmy) of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Brandon Mooney and Kaitlyn Mooney of Americus, GA, Joshua Carswell and Rebekah Carswell of Slidell, LA, and Samantha Cotton and Devin Place of Columbus, GA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Columbus Hospice House, 7020 Moon Rd., Columbus, GA 31909.
