Robert William Castellow, 71, of Columbus, GA died Friday, August 30, 2013 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Watson McKemie officiating. There will be a private interment in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, September 2, 2013 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Mr. Castellow was born October 31, 1941 in Columbus, GA, son of the late Robert Earl Castellow and Margie Trowell Castellow. He retired from the Columbus Police Department having served a total of 30 years there, ending his career as a Patrol Sergeant in October 1996. He also worked part time many years in security at Sears. He was a member of Evangel Temple and the Fraternal Order of Police.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his only sibling, Joyce Castellow Gaines.
Survivors include his sons, Robert Winford Castellow of Phenix City, AL and Stephen Scott Castellow, Sr. (Shawn) of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Bobby Castellow (Amber), Stephen Castellow, Dustin Castellow and Cassie Castellow; great grandson, Carter Castellow; and former wife, Becky Castellow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Columbus Hospice House, 7020 Moon Road, Columbus, GA 31909.
