Roger Dale King, 77, of Columbus died Friday, July 23, 2021 at Piedmont Hospital in Columbus, Georgia.

A Visitation will be held 6 to 8 PM Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Evangel Temple’s Joint Heirs Sunday School Classroom according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, Georgia 31907.

Roger was born in Enon, Alabama son of the late Frank King and Maudie Williams King. He worked in sales for AFLAC and later taught middle school in Fort Benning, Georgia where he was an amazing educator who would write his own songs for his students to learn. Roger loved to talk, tell stories about his childhood, play the guitar and was a great singer. He volunteered at the Gardens of Calvary where he was very active with the people there and he extremely loved his family. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Bobbie Jackson and brother, Earl King.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Joyce Taylor King of Columbus, GA, daughter, Katie Ford (Joey) of Alaska, sons, Matt Hinman of Alaska, Michael King (Jennifer) of Metairie, LA, grandchildren, Ben King, Natalie, William, Jacob and Grayson Ford all of Alaska.
