Sheryl Elizabeth Fiquett, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on May 20, 1948, in Columbus, Georgia, Sheryl was a person of deep faith and unwavering commitment to her family, particularly as a devout member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Sheryl's life was marked by her profound love for her family. She was the beloved daughter of Mildred Ward and Benjamin Ward, both of whom have preceded her in death. Sheryl was the cherished wife of Terry Fiquett, who was the love of her life and her steadfast partner since she was just 13 years old. Their deep bond was a testament to the beauty of commitment and love, and they inspired all who knew them.
She is survived by her daughter Stacey Rash (Stephen) and her two sons, Brad Fiquett and Tim Fiquett (Sherri). Sheryl took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to her three grandchildren: Forrest Fiquett (Raven), Noah Fiquett (Katie), and Olivia Antonovich (Max). Additionally, she had two great-grandchildren, Harrison Fiquett and Everett Fiquett, who brought her great joy. Sheryl is also survived by her brother, Carey Ward.
Sheryl had a tradition that reflected her love for family; every Wednesday, she would meet with her first cousins for breakfast, relishing the joyful moments spent together. She was known for her selflessness, always putting others before herself and embodying the essence of kindness. Her devoted canine companion, Betsey, was always the first she greeted upon returning home, symbolizing the warmth and love that surrounded her.
A visitation for Sheryl will be held on March 17, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, located at 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907. A graveside service will take place the following day on March 18, 2026, at 1:30 PM at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 AL-165, Fort Mitchell, AL 36856.
Sheryl Elizabeth Fiquett's legacy will live on through her family and friends, and she will be remembered for her unwavering faith, deep love for her family, and incredible kindness. She touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed.
