Shirley Bellamy

Mrs. Bellamy passed away Saturday, June 28, 2025 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was 85 years old.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Parkhill Cemetery 4161 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA 31907 according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

She is survived by daughters, Gloria Bellamy; Vivian Bellamy; and Melissa Parker; son-in-law, Ed Parker; granddaughters, Leighton Whatley and Harper Whatley; and grandson, Holden Whatley.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years George Robert Bellamy and parents Arthur and Edna Harrelson.

Mrs. Bellamy was born September 9, 1939 in Longs, S.C. She was a proud military wife from the time of their marriage in 1962 untilhis retirement in 1978. She loved traveling, meeting new people and experiencing different cultures at his many duty stations around the world.

Crocheting, cross stitch, embroidery and sewing were some of her favorite pastimes. She was also an avid reader. her favorite genre was cozy murder mysteries. She was also a big Braves fan.

Her favorite bird was the humming bird. She looked forward to them coming back to the feeders year after year.

She was a devoted dog mom to her fur baby Mack. They were constant companions for 16 years.

Mrs. Bellamy was extremely proud of her family and loved them dearly. She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.
