Sonja Gene Kuhn, 61, of West Point, GA, died after a brief illness on May 31, 2026, in Columbus, GA.

She was born October 29, 1964, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and was adopted at two weeks of age by Merle Lee Kuhn and Rosalyn "Rosie" Wagner Kuhn. Sonja grew up on the family dairy farm in Steuben County, Indiana alongside her brother, Larry.

After attending college at Anderson University, she worked for many years in hospitality and retail, including at the Holiday Inn in Angola, Indiana and later as manager of the Holiday Inn Express. In 2004 she moved to West Point, Georgia, where she made her home with her longtime companion, Jimmy Livingston.

Sonja will be remembered for her sensitive soul, quick sense of humor, love of writing, and enjoyment of cooking for the people she cared about. She also shared her life with many loyal dogs who brought her comfort and companionship through the years.

Sonja is survived by her brother, Larry Kuhn (Denise) of Landrum, SC; her companion, Jimmy Livingston of West Point, GA; her biological brothers, Timothy McCravey and Corey McCravey of Jackson, MI; her nephew, Wesley Kuhn of Huntertown, IN; her niece, Addie Smith of Denver, CO; and her great-nephew and niece, Hunter and Elizabeth Kuhn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Merle Lee Kuhn (1997) and Rosalyn "Rosie" Kuhn (2000).

No services are planned at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA. She is now at peace.
