Steven D. Lowell

Retired MSGT Steven D. Lowell, 62, of Waverly Hall, GA passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 20, 2025 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00-7:00 PM, Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Interment will be held Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery following the services.

Steven was born on February 11, 1963 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Marvin Lowell and Phylis Brown Lowell. He retired with 22 years from the United States Air Force and later served as an Assistant Chief for the Fire Department of Ft. Benning for 14 years. Steven loved car shows, hunting, traveling, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Busaba Lowell of Waverly Hall, GA; children, Andrew Lowell of Washington, DC; Alec Lowell of Waverly Hall, GA; Carmen Lowell of Indiana; Ashlee S. Lafayette of New York; and Amanda D. Lowell of Seattle, Washington. He also had eight grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation or the American Heart Association.
