Susan Elizabeth "Susie" Casey

Susan Elizabeth Casey ("Susie"), 46, of Columbus, GA died on Monday, May 9, 2016, at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by family.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Parkhill Cemetery, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907, with Reverend Mitch McGinnis officiating.
Susie was born on March 22, 1970 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, daughter of Colonel Franklin J. Casey of Columbus, GA and the late Sandra ("Sandy") Erickson Casey. Susie was a longtime resident of Columbus, GA having attended Columbus High School. She was a devoted mother to her two canine companions Sophie and Felix. Susie loved life, nature, outdoor recreation, the beach, and golf, but most of all she enjoyed spending quality time with her beloved family and friends. Ms. Casey was a graduate of Georgia Southern University where she was a Chi Omega sorority sister. She worked for many years at Aflac as a Claims Research & Resolution Analyst, and she was previously employed with Historic Columbus Foundation. Ms. Casey was Catholic by faith.
Other than her father, she is survived by her sister, Karen Casey Cochran, wife of LT. Colonel (Ret.) Lewis Cole Cochran, of Fortson, GA; her brothers, Kevin J. Casey of Fortson, GA; and Michael J. Casey, husband of Carol Ann Lassman of Wellington, FL; nephews James Frank Cochran V; Lewis Cole Cochran, Jr.; John C. Cochran; Andrew L. Casey; niece, Sara C. Casey; and great-niece, Lea G. Cochran; as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, and caring friends.
