Suzette Romona Evans

Suzette R. Evans, born on February 12, 1960, in Atlanta, met her untimely passing on December 4, 2025, in Columbus, Georgia. Known affectionately as Susie, she was a true Wing Dream Icon, celebrated for her meticulous nature and unwavering dedication to her family. Her life was a testament to love and perseverance, and she cherished her children and grandchildren more than anything else.

Susie's unique spirit and vibrant personality were one of a kind; as those who knew her well would say, "the mold was broken when Susie was made." She brought joy and light into the lives of those around her, forging connections that were as deep as they were genuine. Her passion for cruising offered her joy and adventure, allowing her to explore and embrace the beauty of the world.

She is survived by her loving family, including her daughter Deidra Montes, son Jason Evans, son-in-law Luis Montes Jr, and daughter-in-law LaShonda Evans. Her grandchildren, Luis “Lulu” Montes III, Jason Evans Jr, Alicia Ducos, and Serenity Evans, were a constant source of pride and happiness for her. Susie is also survived by her sisters, Patricia Shirling and Glenda Wheeler, her brother, Jimmy Trusty, and her sister-in-law, Diane Trusty. A special bond was shared with her best friend and sister-in-spirit, Hilda Ponce, who stood by her side through thick and thin.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Ruby Trusty and Earl Trusty, and her brother, Kenny Trusty. Their memories will be held close by all who loved her.
