Sylvester "Becky" L. Morrison,85, of Phenix City, AL departed this world on October 22, 2025, at the Columbus Hospice House, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering kindness.
Funeral services will be held 11:00AM, Monday October 27, 2025 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA. A burial procession to Parkhill Cemetery will follow services. The visitation is 2:00-4:00PM Sunday, October 26, 2025 at the funeral home.
Born on September 16, 1940, in Opp, Alabama, she was the cherished daughter of Voter Thomas Jefferson Morrison and Georgia May Morrison, Becky was a dedicated and hardworking individual, having spent her career at several significant mills, including the Bibb Mill, Anderson Mill, Muscogee Mill, and various juice plants in Florida, not to mention her time at Sing Store Buena Vista / Floyd Rd. Her strong work ethic was evident in everything she did, inspiring her family and friends throughout her life. Known for her vibrant personality, Becky was constantly on the go, relishing the opportunity to dance and sing. She had an infectious spirit that brightened any room, particularly when she was surrounded by her adoring family and friends. Her love for handmade dolls and her talent for sewing spoke to her creative nature, while her favorite pastime of sitting on the porch, welcoming any visitor, embodied her warm-hearted approach to life. Spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends brought her immeasurable joy, as she cherished every moment, she could share with the ones she loved.
Becky is now reunited with her beloved parents, Voter Thomas Jefferson Morrison and Georgia May Morrison, as well as her sister, Onyx Norris (Dalton), and brothers, Arloin Morrison (Rosie) and Robert Morrison (Ann) and grandson, Tristan Brittingham, who had all passed before her, forming a loving circle that welcomes her home.
Becky leaves behind her daughters, Kimberly Vaught of Columbus, GA, Tammy Stanley of Lakewales, FL, and Kathy Robarts (Randy) of Frostproof, FL. Her son, Steve Atkinson of Phenix City, AL, along with her grandchildren—Chad Harkless, Brittany McCormick (Stephen), Brieanna Robarts (Josh), Krista Lyons (Russell), Courtney Thomas (Bobby), Mason Humpheries (Natalie), Destin Brittingham, and Hayley Bowers (Rick); 18 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and one great-great-great grandchild on the way as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins—will carry her spirit forward, ensuring her memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She also leaves behind her lifelong best friend, Shirley Dallassandro, whose companionship was a source of comfort and joy in her life and beloved cat Callie.
