Thomas L. Cantrell, 78, of Hamilton, GA died Monday, May 8, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital.
Cryptside services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the Chapel of Pines Mausoleum in Parkhill Cemetery 4161 Macon Road Columbus, Ga. 31907. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at The Chapel of the Pines according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd 31907.
Mr. Cantrell was born May 6, 1939 in Acworth, Georgia son of the late James C. Cantrell and Irene Morris Cantrell. He was a home builder for over 40 years with Cantrell Contracting and graduated from Auburn University. Mr. Cantrell enjoyed being outside working in his garden, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his loving wife of 18 years, Linda Vail Cantrell of Hamilton, GA, daughters, Linda Mayher (John) of Hamilton, GA and Megan Eggena (Tim) of Hamilton, GA, son Richard McGuire (Mindy) of Ellerslie, GA sisters, Betty Cantrell Storey and Lois Cantrell Williams of Kennesaw, GA, grandchildren, Wynn Mayher, Tommy Mayher, Wright Eggena, Sutton Eggena, Jackson Hydrick, Caroline Hydrick, Vail McGuire and Chandler McGuire and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center 1515 Holcombe Blvd. Houston, TX 77030 www.mdanderson.org.
