Thomas H. Crowley, Jr. passed away at Columbus Hospice on Thursday, July 4, 2019 after a long battle with congestive heart failure. He was 67.
Known to his friends and family as Tommy, he was born in Columbus, GA on February 28, 1952 to the late Thomas H. Crowley, Sr. and Annie Lee Dixon-Crowley. Shortly after graduating from Jordan High School, Tommy joined the Army where he spent his Military career in Germany as a Pershing Missile Crewman.
Upon the completion of his service, Tommy spent many years employed as a Deputy Sheriff for the Muscogee County Sheriff's Office. The employment he enjoyed the most however, was his time at The Skate Center in Columbus, Georgia. Skating with his family and friends was by far his favorite pastime and something he always longed to get back to.
Along with his parents, Tommy is preceded in death by his sister, Glenda Crowley and niece, Tracy Elkins.
He is survived by his son, Jason Crowley and wife, Emily (Columbus GA), his sister, Nancy Elkins (Columbus GA), niece, Linda Elkins (Columbus GA), nephew, David Elkins (Columbus GA), grandchildren, Abigail, Natalee, and Steven, great-nephew, Gabriel, and great-niece, Tracy.
Because Tommy was a simple man, the family has chosen to have a private memorial in his honor.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the American Heart Association in Tommy's name.
