Thomas “Tommy” Pierre Duke, 66, of Columbus, GA passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026 in his home.

Memorial services and committal will be announced at a later date according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Born on November 25, 1959, in Sylacauga, AL to Max and Peggy Duke, Tommy lived a full life filled with laughter, friends, service to nation and passions for fishing, rock music, guitars and Auburn football.

Always ready with a joke Tommy was known for his humor, kindness, generosity and being the best brother and friend to all who knew him.

Tommy joined the Air Force in 1982 and served as a “Crew Chief” on F-4 Phantoms and the U-2 spy plane. He left the Air Force in 1995, returning to the Air Force Reserves in 2005. He was again a Crew Chief, this time working on C-130s. He kept his plane ready to take its crew into the fight in both Afghanistan and Iraq. Tommy retired from the Air Force in 2017 with the rank of Master Sergeant.

Tommy is survived by his sisters Jill Martinez and Suzi Duke, a brother Max Duke (Teresa); three nephews, Eric Norris (Tatum), Jason Norris, Brad Martinez (Victoria); great niece, Marci Norris; great nephew Austin Frazier and finally many friends and relatives.

He will be missed and never forgotten.
