Thomas Jeffery “Tom” Wesson, age 76, was born October 15, 1949 to the late Celia Tayor Wesson and Talmadge Clyde Wesson. He graduated from from Tallassee High School and enjoyed telling everyone he had attended University of Montevallo where he majored in “extracurricular activities”.

Funeral services with military honors will be held 1:00 PM CST, Friday, May 1, 2026, graveside at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, 1766 South Fleahop Rd, Eclectic, AL, officiated by Dr. Edward Pullen and directed by McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Ga 31907.

He was very proud of serving his Lord and his country. He actively attended Aletheia Church in Columbus, Ga and was retired from The Alabama Air National Guard 280th Combat Communications Squadron, deployed during Desert Storm. After retirement, he coordinated volunteers for the thrift store at the Humane Society of Elmore County, served as president of his neighborhood Home Owners Association and participated with the Sons of the American Revolution.

Tom loved Auburn football, cars, especially corvettes, being on the lawnmower, feeding the deer at his home in Columbus and most of all ragging his pastor and friends. His friends knew him as hard headed and stubborn but generous, big hearted and fiercely loyal.

Tom is survived by his fiancée Karon Bush, two furbabies, Zoie and IzzI, Brother-in-law Billy Hill (Nancy), numerous cousins and many friends who called him “brother”.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Jean Hill Wesson.
