It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tyler Carr Cashbaugh, who left us far too soon on June 12, 2025, following a tragic car accident. Tyler was 37 years old and lived in Columbus, Georgia, where he built a life full of love, laughter, and purpose.
Tyler was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Megan, and a proud father to three wonderful children: Thomas Banks, Caroline Carr, and Henry Parker. His greatest joy in life was being a dad. Whether coaching a little league game, helping with homework, wrangling three kids up at the River, or simply making his kids laugh, Tyler poured his heart into fatherhood with unwavering love and dedication.
A respected attorney in Columbus, Tyler was known for his integrity and tireless work ethic. He approached his profession with the same passion and commitment he brought to every aspect of his life.
Outside the courtroom, Tyler was an avid golfer with a competitive streak second to none. He never missed a chance to remind you—often with a grin—that he could beat you on the course. If you ever played a round with Tyler, you knew two things: it would be fun, and he’d make sure you knew he was going to win. His love for the game was matched only by the joy he found in sharing it with friends and family.
Tyler’s warmth, wit, and generosity touched everyone who knew him. He had a gift for making people feel seen and valued, and his absence leaves a void that cannot be filled.
He is survived by his wife Megan, their children Banks, Caroline, and Henry; his parents Robert and Lori; his twin brother Travis (Candace) and their children Paige, Carson, Jane, and Walker; his father and mother-in-law, Tom and Debi Bailey; Robert (Peggy) Peters; James (Debbie) Peters; Kimberly (Larry) Rittenhouse; Betsy Norrell; David (Eileen) Cashbaugh and a wide circle of family, friends, and colleagues who will carry his memory in their hearts forever. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, the late William (Nancy) Cashbaugh; Geri (Joseph) Leone.
A celebration of Tyler’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 21, 2025 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory where all who knew and loved him are welcome to gather, share stories, and honor the incredible man he was. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Georgia 31907.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the First Tee (https://firsttee.org/donate/), in Tyler’s memory.
