Vance D. Haynes, 77 of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, December 5, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 8, 2012 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Mr. Haynes was born May 23, 1935 in Dodge County, Georgia son of the late Vance Burt Haynes and Pauline Fordham Haynes. He was retired Safety Director for Wilson Tree Service in Charlotte and former Area Manager for Farrens Tree Service.
Other than his parents his was preceded in death by one of his sons, Tony Haynes, one sister and nine brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years Thelma Jean Haynes of Columbus, GA; daughters, Christy Wells (Gene) of Columbus, GA, Carol Ortiz (Marty) of Columbus, GA and Kim Rogers (John) of Cody, WY; son, Vance â
