Vera H. O'Hair passed away quietly Monday, June 1, 2015, at the age of 90 in Columbus, GA. There will be a visitation Friday, June 5, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home. Mrs. Vera H. O'Hair will be buried with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. According to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Vera (Vicky) was born November 20, 1924 in Tuckasegee, NC, daughter of Dillard McKinley Hooper and Dora Rosena Hooper. Vicky attended Cecil's Business College in Asheville, NC, and was the second woman banker from the State of Kentucky to graduate from the School of Banking of the South at LSU in 1970. She was named a Kentucky Colonel in 1967 and retired as a Vice President of Fort Knox National Bank, Fort Knox KY.
Vera was a devoted Army wife during WWII, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War.
Survivors include; daughter Patricia Daniels of Columbus, GA; son-in-law Russel H, Daniels; grandchildren, Tarra Bopp, Teague Laguens, Stephanie Nelson, Victoria Scott and 6 great-grandchildren; previous sons-in-law Pete Laguens and Thomas McNerney. Vera was one of 11 siblings and is survived by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
