Vernon Jerry Jernigan

Mr. Vernon Jerry Jernigan, 80 of Box Springs, GA. Died July 21, 2021 at his residence.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 23, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907. Entombment will be at a later date in Spotsylvania, VA.

Mr. Jernigan was born November 29, 1940, son of the late Vernon Wilmo Jernigan and Betty Ellen Swink Jernigan. A was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. He served in the Army and had numerous jobs over the course of his career. He previously worked as a Lineman, a truck driver and also worked for AT&T, previously Southern Bell.

He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Vera of Fredericksburg, VA. and a son Greg Jernigan of Calabash, NC., his sisters Jane Ferrell of Columbus, GA, Judy Jackson (David), Sugar Valley, GA., Janice Stith, Columbus, GA. And Jeannie Hickman, Midland, GA., grandchildren Ethan Vera, Fredericksburg, VA and Bailey Graninger of Locus Grove, VA., numerous nieces and nephews, numerous great-nieces and a great-great-nephew.
