Virginia Anne Lowery, 82, of Columbus, GA died Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Columbus Hospice House.
A memorial service will be held 4:30 PM Sunday, December 9, 2012 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Ferguson officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3:30 to 4:30 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Lowery was born April 25, 1930 in Surrency, GA daughter of the late Thomas R. and Willie Maude Watson Horton. She was a homemaker and a member of Midway Baptist church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Lowery, brother, John Horton, and grandson, David R. Lowery.
Survivors include her children, Donna Murphy (Mike) of Salem, AL and Thomas R. Lowery of Macon, GA, sisters, Cathy Turner (Dewey) of Pine Mountain, GA and Linda Caldwell (Ray) of Eufaula, AL, brothers, James Horton (Peggy) of Mary Esther, FL and Robert Horton (Estell) of Blairsville, GA, sister-in-law, Frances Hannaford of Peachtree City, GA, grandson, Joshua D. Nelson of Warner Robins, GA, step granddaughters, Allie Howard, Amy Starling and Angie Saylor, special friend, Linda York of Warner Robins, GA, and special caregiver from Hospice, Marvylin Perry.
