W. Van Mills, 66, of Columbus, GA died Monday, December 3, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital.
A memorial service will be held 2:30 PM Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Freedom Worship Center 1714 Knowles Rd. Phenix City, AL 36867 with Pastor David Stephens officiating and assisted byPastor Chase Welch. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 PM at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Mills was born May 22, 1946 in Columbus, GA son of Rose Allen Fleenor of Columbus, GA and the late Leon Mills. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam War where he was a member of the 101st Airborne Division. He was also a member of Freedom Worship Center.
Other than his father, he was preceded in death by 3 of his children, Donna, Deanna, and Little Van.
Survivors other than his mother include his wife, Patricia Price Mills of Columbus, GA, sons, Ronald Mills (Tasha) of Columbus, GA and Jeffrey Scott Sellers (Wendy) of Salem, AL, daughter, Tammy Lynn Mills of Phenix City, AL, sisters, Louise Tillman (Dave) of Louisville, KY, Dorothy Lopez (Eddie) of Columbus, GA, Brenda Still (Joe) of Box Springs, GA, Dianne Strickland of Palm Coast, FL and Patty Roberson (Tim) of Ft. Hood, TX, six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the special angels of 3 North of St. Francis Hospital for their compassion and care.
