Warner Holcombe passed away September 23, 2026 at home, in Columbus, Georgia surrounded by his loving family after a years long battle with leukemia and diabetes.  

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM, Saturday, October 3, 2026 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Born July 16,1957 in Hartford, he was the son of the late William F. Holcombe and Jaqueline T. Holcombe.  Hoke grew up in Avon, proudly claiming the title as a ‘Swamper’ for life.

His family moved to Daytona Beach, Florida in 1974 where Warner graduated from Mainland High School in 1975.  Shortly after, he met and then married Theresa, the love of his life, in 1979.  Together they migrated back and forth over the years to Michigan, where their two sons were born, and Florida, finally settling in Columbus, Georgia to be near their children and grandchildren.

Warner was an avid golfer, bowler, skier, and hunter. But he was mainly devoted to his family. Over the years he coached the boys in baseball, football, wrestling, and even served as their troop leader in Boy Scouts.

He is survived by Theresa, his loving wife of 47 years, son Kirk and wife Alicia of Smith Station, Alabama, son William and wife Rose of Columbus, Georgia, his grandchildren Brianna, Nolan, and Phoenix and a great grandson Oliver. Also, his brother Wayne and wife Bobi of Old Saybrook, brother Dale and wife Kathy of South Daytona Beach Florida, and many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

Arrangements are made through the McMullen Funeral Home of Columbus, Ga.
