W.C. Ellis, Sr.

W.C. Ellis, Sr., 83 of Bridgeport, TX. went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 26, 2025 at Decatur Hospital in Decatur, TX.

Funeral service for Mr. Ellis will be held Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 10:00 AM at chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with the Rev. Steven Bernard of Boyd, TX and Rev. Danny Courtney of Columbus, GA officiating.

Interment will be at Veterans Memorial Gardens at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus Ga 31907. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd, Columbus Ga 31907.

Mr. Ellis was born January 21, 1942 in Columbus, GA, son of the late Woodrow and Willie B. Floyd Ellis. He served in the US Airforce as Airman First Class.

Mr. Ellis was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Martha Ann Smith Ellis, his parents, sister, Cumi Shavers, brother, Jimmy R. Ellis, son-in-law, Stephen LaDon Rathel, one grandson, Jonathan Colby Ellis and nephew, Victor Wyman Shavers.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Janelle Ellis, children W.C.Ellis, Jr. (Kathy) of Phenix City, AL, Carolyn Calloway (Tim) of Columbus, GA, Wonda Johnson (Daniel) of Phenix City, AL, Kenneth Ellis (Alice) of Delano, TN, Gwendolyn Delevie (Chris) of Columbus, GA. Stepchildren Jason Michael of Fort Worth, TX , Amanda Baxter of Alvord, TX, Amber Billington of Bridgeport, TX and Jacob Billington of Denton, TX, and a sister Dean Ellis Cosby of Phenix City , AL, 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
