William Jim “Jimbo” Wetherington, III, 37 years old of Flowery Branch, Georgia, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025 surrounded by his family.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 15, 2025 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home with Dr. Jimmy Elder officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Jimbo was born in Columbus, Georgia, November 26, 1987, son of Jim and Debbie Wetherington. He attended Calvary Christian School K-5 through 10th grade and graduated from Northside High School in 2006. Jimbo graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in Exercise and Health Science in 2011 and continued with a degree in Respiratory Therapy.
Jimbo was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and Nascar and went on several hunting expeditions. He loved working in his yards and garden. His main passion in life was spending time with his children, his daughter Heidi and his son Bo (William Jim Wetherington IV) and was extremely close with his entire family. Family was very important to him.
Jimbo was preceded in death by his grandfather Jim Wetherington, Sr.
He is survived by his parents, Jim and Debbie Wetherington, his sister, Ashley (Ronnie Tyler) Wetherington, his brother, Drew (Carly) Wetherington, his children, daughter Heidi Wetherington and son Bo Wetherington. Jessica Wetherington, Lauren McAndrew, Grandparents, Shirely Wetherington, Gerald and Margie Tanner and Jim Banville. Several uncles, aunts and cousins.
