William Julius
"Bill" Waller
Dec 27, 1954 — Sep 18, 2026
William Julius “Bill” Waller, known to family and friends as Bill, was born on December 27, 1954, and entered eternal rest on September 18, 2026. After a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Waller Sr. and Mary E. Waller; and his brothers, David Burr Sutter and Leonard “Buddy” Waller Jr.
He is survived by his son, William Alexander Forbus of Nebraska; his significant other, Jerry Ann Medlock of Columbus; his sister, Cynthia “Sue” and Ron Bullard of Chesapeake, Virginia; his brother, Terry and Dawn Waller of Waconia, Minnesota; as well as generations of nieces and nephews throughout the country and around the world.
Bill served in the United States Army, his ashes will be interred at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery in Alabama. Bill was a devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs. In his younger years, he loved to fish, and fishing became a cherished tradition shared with family and friends.
Bill loved his family and extended family, even though expressing that love was difficult. Independent and determined to live life on his own terms, he experienced both joys and hardships, accomplishments and setbacks.
Bill was a believer who had accepted Jesus Christ into his heart. Though his journey of faith was not always easy, his family takes comfort in the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ and the promise of eternal life.
He was complex, sometimes misunderstood, and imperfect; as we all are. But he was loved.
